Phoebe and Vince got married on Saturday!! If you live in the Chicago area, you know we had PERFECT weekend weather, which was ideal, because these two got married in their own backyard!! It was THE most beautiful day, the perfect backdrop to a perfect wedding!

Here are some fun facts about this cute couple and their beautiful day: They have two beloved dogs, Drogon and Duncan, who wore matching blue bow ties. They had a doughnut wall at their reception (!!), plus carrot cake and lemon cake from Vince’s favorite bakery. Phoebe wore a killer wedding dress + NOBULL gym shoes (SMART BRIDE). Vince bought Star Wars socks for his groomsmen, and he wore a Yoda tie (can you tell?!). And, they got married in the backyard of the house Phoebe has lived in her entire life… and they made their wedding day exactly what they wanted it to be: we took portraits at the Chicago Botanic Garden, they catered Lou Malnati’s pizza and Portillo’s beef, and they surrounded themselves with their very closest family and friends (and their puppies!!).

—The woman in red who stopped them on the way out of the Chicago Botanic Garden (as they were leaving to go get married!): she gave them a TWO-dollar bill and told them it was an Italian wedding tradition. What a delight. (If I ever come across a two-dollar bill, you KNOW that I’m keeping it for when I see a couple on their wedding day and giving it to them 🙂
