Alec & Alexa’s Elegant Fishermen’s Inn Wedding
Alexa and Alec’s elegant Fishermen’s Inn wedding in Elburn, Illinois was absolutely stunning, from beginning to end! I’m not sure where to start with these two, because it was such a special thing for us to photograph their wedding (more later!). But Alexa and Alec planned such a beautiful celebration of their beautiful love, and Fishermen’s Inn provided the perfect setting for their guests to dance the night away. The venue grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and we had so much fun wandering around, finding beautiful light and capturing stunning portraits! What a day!
Alexa and Alec grew up in the same neighborhood, but didn’t reconnect until they both went home during Covid. This is my favorite part of their story: they started taking daily walks together in their neighborhood, and their friendship quickly grew into something more! Alexa and Alec got engaged downtown at the beautiful Milton Lee Olive Park, but they planned their wedding in the western suburbs of Chicago, a nod to their hometown and their childhood spent nearby each other!
I could list a million things I love about these two: Alexa’s party-girl spirit, Alec’s face when he looks at Alexa, Alexa’s larger-than-life heart, the tightness of their families and the special relationship they all have… I could go on and on. What a joy to get to know Alexa and Alec over the course of these past months. We love them!!! Take a look at the photos of Alexa, right after they walked down the aisle as husband and wife. PURE BLISS. These photos make me so happy!
Here’s where it gets really fun: we first connected with Alec and Alexa in 2021, through Alex and Eric. (Try to follow — lots of similar names here, haha!) Alexa was Alex’s maid of honor, and we photographed their wedding back in October 2022 (check out Alex and Eric’s Hyatt Lodge Wedding)! THEN, Alexa connected us with Katie and Pat, and we photographed their wedding this past February (check out Pat and Katie’s Royal Fox Country Club Wedding)! And SO, Alexa and Alec’s wedding was so FUN for us because all THREE of our couples were there! At the end of the night, me and my three beautiful brides took a photo together (check out the end of the post!), and I can’t even describe how happy it made me to be a part of these three amazing friends’ weddings, and to have them all be there in the same place. What a dream, to get to do this, to meet these incredible people, and to have the chance to be a part of one of the most important days of their lives.
So, all that to say (!!!), enjoy Alexa and Alec’s wedding day highlights. It was, in so many ways, a dream come true. This Fishermen’s Inn wedding was one we won’t soon forget!!
