Pat and Katie have known each other since high school, and the longevity of their relationship shows in the way they laugh so easily together!! These two are the absolute real deal. We laughed all the way through their engagement session in downtown St. Charles, the place where they grew up! Alter Brewing was such a fun, chill setting for the beginning of their session. After a few portraits there, we found some beauuuutiful light down by the riverwalk, before meeting up with Trace, their 1-year-old golden retriever! We got ALL THE PUPPY SMILES and I’ve been laughing ever since I edited their session, thinking about Trace and his big happy grin!

I’ve done plenty of photography in downtown St. Charles before, but believe it or not, it’s always been in the colder months! It’s such a different experience in the summertime when everything is in bloom (and you’re not shivering, ha!)! We truly had perfect weather and the most beautiful sunset, and the glow in their photos is unreal! So grateful for such a beautiful evening for these two!
