Kayla + Cody | A Summertime Independence Grove Wedding

Get ready for photos of Kayla and Cody’s spectacular summertime Independence Grove wedding that will make you smile and might just take your breath away!! But first, a bit about this sweet couple!! Kayla and Cody met in college, and they’ve been together for over eight years! (Plus, four and a half of those years was long distance, while Cody was a professional baseball player!) These two are laid back, relaxed, and just really (realllllly) love to laugh. Kayla’s gorgeous smile lights up a room, and Cody looks happiest when he’s looking at her! They have the sweetest dog, a golden retriever named Nellie (I got to meet her at their engagement session! Love that sweet crazy pup!), and although Nellie couldn’t be at their wedding, her face definitely made more than one appearance!

Speaking of their wedding… their summertime Independence Grove wedding was absolutely breathtaking!! Their original wedding date was July 4th, 2020, and we were SO excited to shoot this wedding (because they are an incredible couple, and because the Fourth of July is one of my very favorite holidays, and because FIREWORKS!!). But then, Kayla and Cody had to postpone their wedding celebration, and decided on a new date: July 2nd, 2021, almost exactly a year later! Independence Grove in Libertyville, Illinois, was breathtaking — they had the most beautiful weather, and the most perfect day. They said their vows to each other in a garden, underneath a blue sky that matched the bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly. Kayla and Cody danced and twirled their way through portraits as the sun set over the water, before joining their guests for an epic, beautiful, memorable celebration!

Kayla and Cody — Marty and I were so grateful that we were able to be a part of your amazing wedding day (especially after such a long wait! It was so worth it!)!!
