Hi there! Welcome to the place where I write about stunning weddings, beautiful families, and my own journey. So glad you're here!

Hi, I'm Sherah!

It’s November, and wedding season in Chicago has slowed down just a bit! I’m thankful both for the busyness of fall, and for the quieter pace of late autumn as we enter the holiday season. Right now, portrait shoots are happening (!!), my January and February couples are prepping for their winter-wonderland weddings (please, snow!!), and on a smaller scale, our family life is just happy and really crazy! Case in point: this morning, as I was reading to Josh and Charlie, Lily (my three year old) snuck away, found a pack of paints, and proceeded to paint a piece of paper… and then her hands… and then her feet… and then the walls and floor! There were footprints leading to the bathroom, where she decided to go and wash her hands (with no luck!). Thankfully, the paint was washable, and both Lily and my floors/door are now squeaky clean! Our life is never, ever boring!

Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos from the back-to-back weekend weddings we shot at the beginning of October! My favorite, by far, are the last two. You might have to squint, but you’ll see a tiny Marty on a golf course, chasing off a bunch of geese! Backstory: we showed up to a beautiful location on the golf course with our wedding party, only to see a giant flock of geese covering the course, right behind where I wanted to place my bride and her bridesmaids. With a nod from the venue’s coordinator (she was a little incredulous: “You want to chase the geese away? Um, sure?!”), Marty took off after the geese. They scattered. Everyone laughed and cheered, and we got the shot we wanted, minus geese 😉

Happy November!
