Stacia and Max’s wedding day was warm and sunny, filled with glowy, fairytale-esque light… and when I think of one word that could sum up their wedding, it would definitely be “fairytale”! Stacia carefully planned every beautiful detail of their day, and every little thing had significance. Her dad, an arborist, hand-cut the gorgeous cedar coasters that they gave to their guests as thank-you gifts, and beautiful wooden slabs and pieces were used as decor throughout the day. Stacia’s wedding dress was carefully embroidered and embellished with lace from her mom’s own wedding gown. Max purchased Stacia’s wedding ring from Israel, a place that has huge significance in Stacia’s life. Stacia and her bridesmaids handcrafted the florals and bouquets (when you see them, you’ll be totally amazed!). And their reception was a beautiful, incredible celebration, carefully planned with their 250 guests in mind!
Stacia and Max met online, after Stacia’s sister bought her an online dating account and basically forced her to use it 😉 After getting to know each other, Max made the bold decision to move from his home and family in Ohio to live close to Stacia in St. Louis… and a few years later, here we are! One of my favorite things about their story is that Max was so sure about Stacia, from the beginning. He saw the treasure that she was. And she IS an incredible treasure!
My favorite moment from their wedding day? Max and Stacia waited to see each other for the first time at their ceremony, but they took a quick moment at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park to hold hands around a corner, talk quietly, and pray with each other before driving to the ceremony. You’ll see the images below. Their expressions are perfect, and it was such a sweet moment! (A few other notables: Stacia holding her niece, beautiful tiny baby Liorah; the way that Stacia and Max gave so much honor and love to their parents throughout the day; …and of course, the guy who did a sweet backflip on the dance floor!)
What an honor and privilege it was for Marty and I to photograph Stacia and Max’s wedding day and document their beautiful, beautiful love.
