When I first met with Lauren and Steven last November to talk about their dreams for their wedding day, they mentioned a big giant reception with 300+ guests — everyone near and dear to them! These two love and prioritize their family and friends (hello 20-person wedding party!!!), and they had planned for a day where they could celebrate their love with everyone else that they loved!! Of course, you know the story: Covid hit, and Lauren and Steven strapped in for the roller coaster ride that became their wedding planning adventure! It was a wild and crazy summer, followed by an even crazier fall, and topped by this last month (!!). Their plans were in total flux, but through it all? They knew they were getting married on December 12th… no. matter. what! Thankfully… they found the perfect church and the perfect venue, and together with their closest friends and their sweet families, they committed their lives to each other. It was the very best day, and ended with the very best party!

If you know me, you know that I love winter, I love pine and evergreens, and I love snow!! SO, this wedding was a DREAM to shoot! And even though Lauren and Steven didn’t get an epic snowstorm, we DID get a sweet little flurry, right at the end of the night (check out the last picture below!!)!! After Lauren and Steven’s ceremony at St. Francis Xavier’s in LaGrange, we headed to Lauren’s childhood home in Hinsdale for portraits in her neighborhood. Hinsdale has some gorgeous cobblestone streets that Lauren loves, and their bridal party killed it with their nighttime portraits!! The Drake Hotel in Oak Brook provided a picture-perfect setting for their reception (check out the cozy fire tables and all that glowy light!!), and we ended the night with portraits outside the hotel (igloos!! twinkle lights!! perfection!!!) and a stunning sparkler sendoff!! WHAT A DAY!!
