I’ve been waiting to share this portrait session for awhile now… and YES, you’re definitely not looking at images from Chicago!!! Alison and Peter live abroad but have close ties to Washington DC, and months ago Alison booked me for their November wedding at a beautiful venue just outside the DC area in Virginia. We planned a portrait session for the night before their wedding, at the Lincoln Memorial, and we were all SO EXCITED… and then… of course… hello 2020! The state of Virginia dropped the size of group gatherings, and Alison and Peter were forced to postpone their wedding celebration. But (!!), we still had our Lincoln Memorial permit… and so Marty and I hopped on a plane and shot Alison and Peter’s session on a beautiful Saturday evening in Washington DC!
I have so much respect and admiration for this amazing couple!! They have handled all of the 2020 Covid craziness with so much grace and poise. They have dealt with long-distance wedding planning, juggling jobs, mandatory quarantines, and life overseas… and yet Alison still managed to find the time to send me detailed lists of restaurant recommendations for the DC area (!!). These two treat each other and others with so much respect, and respect is exactly what I feel for them. Marty and I love these two so much! )Not to mention… they did such an amazing job at their session. It might not look like it, but there were a LOT of people out at the memorials, there were a million distractions, and we took a LOT of photos!)
I am so excited to share my favorites from their Washington DC Lincoln Memorial session! You’ll see Alison and Peter in their wedding attire, plus a very sweet engagement-esque outfit. We basically did it all, one beautiful November night at the Lincoln Memorial, and I couldn’t be happier. Enjoy my favorites from their gorgeous session at our nation’s capitol!
