Lizzie & Cal’s Timeless Knollwood Club Wedding
Lizzie and Cal’s Knollwood Club wedding celebration in Lake Forest was a DELIGHT for us, and I can’t wait to tell you why!! Every single wedding we photograph is special to us, each for so many different reasons. But Lizzie and Cal’s wedding was different, because it felt like everywhere we looked, there were people we knew and absolutely LOVED!
I first met Lizzie and Cal at Sarah (Lizzie’s sister) and Jeff’s wedding three years ago. Bubbly, beautiful Lizzie was the maid of honor, and Cal was her quiet, supportive boyfriend. Their whole family left an impression on us! We loved their evident, unconditional love for each other, and their kindness and generosity. Over the past few years, this family has walked through some extraordinarily difficult challenges, and yet they faced them together with beautiful courage and incredible tenacity. Listen: this family is amazing. And so, when Lizzie and Cal reached out to us about photographing their wedding, we were OVER THE MOON THRILLED!
On top of getting to photograph Lizzie and Cal and the whole family… this Knollwood Club wedding was even sweeter because we worked with the most amazing team! Alexa and The Creative Planners team were there, and they perfectly coordinated the entire day from beginning to end. It’s always too much fun getting to work side by side with Matt and Luke of Matthew Robert Creative, and the next-day highlight video Matt created was perfection! Throw in florals from Designs by Jody and a KILLER band like Maggie Speaks, and you’ve literally got a recipe for a perfect wedding day.
Finally, Lizzie and Cal: these two are so kind, so sweet, so lovely! Lizzie’s vibrant, beautiful emotions are balanced by Cal’s contemplative personality. They both love to have fun, and they both deeply love the people who are a part of their lives. One of the parts of their reception that sticks out in my mind is following them around from table to table as they greeted their guests. Together they paid such special attention to everyone they talked to, and I saw the looks on everyone’s faces: Lizzie and Cal are simply adored by everyone!
