One of my favorite moments from last weekend’s session with Doug and Natalie happened when we were talking about how to make couples, and guys in particular, feel a little less nervous at the beginning of a shoot. Doug laughed and said, “Wait, wait, Natalie told me about that. And I was like, ‘Am I supposed to be nervous? Definitely not nervous!'” Doug and Natalie were completely themselves, camera on or camera off. As I was working through this edit, I loved catching so many different expressions on their faces, looks directed toward each other, like their own personal language. I really felt like I was just photographing what life is like for them together: laughing with each other, sipping wine, watching the sunset. What a privilege, you two. Can’t wait for next month.
